The woman behind the site

I built everything
in motion.
Still do.

I had two children by the time I was 21. I did not finish college until after they were both born. I moved to a new country in my mid-twenties with a young family and no roadmap. And somewhere in the middle of all of that — I built a life I am genuinely proud of.

Style & Soul 35+ exists because I want the same for you. Not when things are less busy. Not when the timing is better. Now. Exactly as you are. From wherever you are standing.

"The women who inspire me most are not the ones who waited for the perfect moment. They are the ones who decided the moment they were in was perfect enough."

Where it started

Young, married,
two children at 21

I grew up in the UK and married young. By the time I was 21 I had two beautiful children — a daughter and a son — and a life that was full in every sense of the word. Full of love, full of responsibility, full of things that needed doing before I had finished figuring out who I was.

I did not finish my degree. There was simply no version of the timeline where that was possible at the time — and I made peace with that. What I did not make peace with was the idea that it could not happen later. So I went back.

With both children at home and my husband's unwavering support, I returned to education and completed my studies. Not because someone told me to. Not because the moment was ideal. Because I decided it mattered — and I built the time around the decision rather than waiting for the time to appear on its own.

"My husband never once made me feel like going back to school was impractical. He made it feel like the only reasonable thing to do. That support changed the trajectory of everything." — Anjie

My daughter, watching all of this, went on to complete her MBA. I do not think that is a coincidence. When children see you building your life rather than deferring it, they learn that building your life is what you do. At any age. In any circumstances.

My son is an entrepreneur — he has built his own business and works harder than almost anyone I know. I am extraordinarily proud of both of them. Not because their paths have been straightforward, but because they have each done the work, in their own way, on their own terms.

Building a life in motion — Italy, 2025

Starting over — again

Wellington, Florida.
A new country. A new life.

In 2000 we moved to Florida. My husband — who had played professional cricket in Pakistan and national level cricket in the UK — was building a new chapter, and so was I. We started in Miami, then twelve years in Boca Raton, and for the past twelve-plus years, Wellington in Palm Beach County — where I have planted the deepest roots of all.

A new country means a new social world from scratch. New professional networks. New cultural references. New everything. Most people find that daunting. I found it energising. I have always been someone who connects people — it is simply how I am wired.

More than twenty-five years later, Wellington is home in every sense. Dinners with friends who have become family. Charity events and community fundraisers. Group holidays with four to eight couples at a time. And if you put me in a room where I know absolutely nobody — I will genuinely enjoy myself. I will leave with people I want to see again. That is the reason I have a friends group in Indianapolis built entirely from regular visits to see my daughter. It is the reason I have written about how to walk into any room and leave with three new friends — because it is something I have been doing my whole life.

I go back to the UK every year. My mum is still there. My roots are still there. And London — I walk around it like a tourist who knows every shortcut. That dual perspective, British sensibility layered over 25 years of Florida living, is part of everything I write.

Twenty years of building

The career I built
from the ground up

I completed my education and walked straight into a marketing career that I built one role at a time across some of the most recognisable brands in America. ADT Security. Bluegreen Vacations. Motorola. Office Depot. And for the past several years, Kaplan North America — where I lead a team of fifteen across marketing automation, lifecycle strategy and CRM.

Twenty years. Multiple industries. Every role built on the last. None of it handed to me. All of it earned.

What those twenty years gave me — beyond the expertise — was a very clear understanding of what women in their professional prime actually need. Not more hustle. Not another optimisation framework. Clarity. Connection. A voice that speaks to them rather than past them.

I spent two decades communicating on behalf of major brands. Style & Soul 35+ is the first time I am communicating entirely on behalf of myself — and the women I see myself in. The work-life balance post came from living it. The energy guide came from experiencing it. Everything here is earned, not researched.

Built the platform she was looking for and could not find. For the woman who has done the work of getting here and wants content that meets her where she is.

What this site is built on

The values I bring
to everything here

01
Honesty over aspiration

I am not going to tell you what your life could look like. I am going to tell you what mine actually looks like — the full version, including the parts that are complicated, ongoing and unresolved. That honesty is the foundation of everything I write. It is why the Botox post tells you about the bruising.

02
Built in motion, not waiting

I did not wait until the children were grown. I did not wait until the career was established. I did not wait until the timing was perfect. I built everything alongside everything else. That is not a regret — it is the approach I recommend. It is the whole story behind this post.

03
Connection over content

I have spent my life connecting people. Across South Florida, across the workplace, on group trips across four continents. The reason I built this site is connection — to find the women who felt what I felt reading content that was not made for them, and to build something that is. Start with the social confidence guide.

A note from Anjie

If you are here, something on this site spoke to you. Maybe it was the finance post that said out loud what you have been feeling quietly for years. The version of my story I do not always tell starts with money. I have written about how I stopped being scared of my bank account — that piece is the financial side of the same story you are reading here.

Maybe it was the London guide that read like a message from a friend who knows the city. Maybe it was the perimenopause skin guide that finally talked about your skin as it actually is rather than as a problem to solve.

Whatever brought you here — I am glad it did.

I built Style & Soul 35+ in the gaps between a full-time career, regular flights to Indianapolis to see my grandchildren, annual trips back to London to see my mum, group holidays with friends and all the beautiful, complicated, ordinary business of a life well-lived in Wellington, Florida.

I built it because the content I was looking for did not exist. Content that spoke to the woman who has two decades of hard-won expertise and a grandchild who just turned one. The woman who organises a couples holiday for eight people and makes it look effortless. The woman who goes back to London every year and walks around it like a tourist who knows every shortcut.

That woman was me. I suspect she might be you too.

Every Thursday I write a newsletter — style finds, honest beauty, real wellness, travel from genuine experience and the money conversations most of us never had. It is free. It is personal. And it is the thing I am most proud of building.

I would love you to join us.
