I am not asking you to organise your life around a horoscope. But I am a Libra, it is Libra season, and I would like to allow myself one small indulgence.

Serena Williams is a Libra.
Kim Kardashian is a Libra.
Monica Bellucci is a Libra.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is a Libra.
Kate Winslet is a Libra.
Gwyneth Paltrow is a Libra.
Dakota Johnson is a Libra.

Whatever you think of any of them, none of them peaked and then politely stepped aside.

The scales were never
about staying still

Libra is the sign of the scales. We are famous for balance, and also for overthinking every decision. I know, because I have lived it. For years I thought balance meant keeping everyone else comfortable.

Somewhere after thirty-five, I started to see it differently. Balance is not shrinking yourself to fit the room. It is making space for your own needs on the same scale as everyone else's.

Look at what these women
did next

Catherine Zeta-Jones stepped into the role of Morticia Addams at fifty-three. Kate Winslet took on one of her most celebrated television roles in her mid-forties. Monica Bellucci is still working, still magnetic and still entirely herself, well into her sixties. Serena won at the highest level of her sport for over two decades and then chose, on her own terms, to move towards what came next. Gwyneth built a business out of what began as a newsletter.

And then there is Kim Kardashian, who turned a very public life into a very serious business. She co-founded Skims as a shapewear brand and it grew into a company valued in the billions. Whatever you make of the headlines, she saw a gap that women were frustrated by and built the solution herself. That is shrewdness, and it is a reminder that iconic is not only about being seen. It is about owning what you build.

The common thread is not youth. It is that they kept going, and they became more deliberate about it as they went.

Born to be iconic. We simply get better at it.

What I take from them

Five things worth
borrowing

01
Ambition

You are allowed
to want more

Not instead of the life you have built, but alongside it. Wanting more is not ingratitude. It is information.

02
Discernment

Taking your time is
not being stuck

Libras deliberate. After thirty-five, that deliberation turns into discernment, and discernment is a quiet superpower. You know what you do not want now, which makes choosing so much easier.

03
Strength

Grace and grit live
in the same woman

The Libra stereotype is soft and charming. Watch Serena Williams for five minutes and you will see how incomplete that is.

04
Opportunity

See the gap,
then fill it

Kim noticed what women were not getting from shapewear and made it herself. After thirty-five, you have spent years noticing what is missing. That is not complaining. It is market research.

05
Permission

Your next chapter does
not need permission

Mine did not. I built this site alongside a great full-time career in marketing automation, and I am still figuring it out as I go. If you are waiting to feel ready, may I gently suggest that you might not get that feeling? Start anyway.

"Every year you have lived has added something: perspective, taste, nerve. Nobody gets to take that off you."

A small ritual for Libra season

Take ten minutes this week with a cup of something warm. Write down one thing you have been weighing up for too long. Then write down what you would choose if nobody else's opinion mattered. You do not have to act on it today. Simply notice how clear it becomes when you give it the space.

If you are not a Libra, borrow the sentiment anyway. It works for every sign.
